Shooting Competition
The Tyrolean Kaiser Infantry Association local group in Innsbruck along with the 23d
Infantry battalion of the 6d Infantry brigade organized the shooting.
The shooting comprised a team competition with each team firing together as
a unit from three reclining defensive positions at a distance of 100 meters with the Storm 77 rifle.
In addition to the team shooting competition an individual singles shooting competition
was held with the Steyr M95 rifle firing upon an honorary target at a distance of 150 meters.
The winner received the honorary target with this years motive showing the 'Operation Glacier war' campaign.

The 5.56mm Storm 77 rifle - StG77 (Steyr AUG)
The StG77 manufactured at the Steyrs weapon factory is a modern weapon,
which has an optical sight capable of 1.5 times magnification integrated into a handgrip.
This set-up allows rapid target acquisition and better performance under twilight or diffused light conditions.
This weapon is capable of single shot fire or continuous rapid fire.

By lightly squeezing the trigger the rifle is capable of firing single shots, while rapid
continuous firing of the rifle is accomplished by completely squeezing the trigger.

The 8 mm Repeating Rifle M95
The M95 manufactured by the Steyr weapons factory was the standard weapon of the K.U.K army
and the Tyrolean Kaisers Infantry. This weapon had a straight breech, which for its time
allowed for a very rapid rate of fire.
